I love his idea of the targeted time frame because this ...

This handbook has revealed how little I actually knew about trading. I have only been trading for 18 months and I am yet to be profitable however as I slowly digest and understand this manual by Dr. Wendel I am confident it will make me profitable. I love his idea of the targeted time frame because this is when most moves happen anyways. I will update review after I have implemented his methods.
My only regret is not getting the book instead I got the Kindle edition.

Unless you are an EXCEL whiz, stay away. Same if you are newbie to stock trading.

I think the author's intentions are good overall but my I had some concerns when I saw there was an EXCEL sheet in there. I had no problem downloading it but this poor sucker won't work and I am not an EXCEL expert. This EXCEL workbook is literally packed with all kinds of formulas they all those bells and whistles are thoroughly useless if you can't update it for yesterday's price. It would have been better for the other to get something that works on a website and maybe charge a few bucks to access something that works. I was one hair away from asking for a reimbursment but the author pepperred his book with a few links to free articles. Those might get some value. As the author clearly mentioned, this is not a book to learn technical analysis. Unless you are already familiar with terms like NR7-NR4, etc. you will need to refer to Investopedia big time.
This reason I will stick to a 1 star for this one is that the author does not show how to really use the workbook either. The book is extremely to the point to say the least and the author is very clear that if some of the links used to populate the workbook are dead one day or the address changes you will have to figure out a new source of data and retro-fit the spreadsheet accordingly.

The author of Flags of Our Fathers achieves considerable but not equal success in this new Pacific War-themed history. Again he approaches the conflict focused on a small group of men: nine American Navy and Marine aviators who were shot down off the Japanese-held island of Chichi Jima in February 1945. All of them were eventually executed by the Japanese; several of the guilty parties were tried and condemned as war criminals. When the book keeps its eye on the aviators-growing up under a variety of conditions before the war, entering service, serving as the U. S. Navy's spearhead aboard the fast carriers, or facing captivity and death-it is as compelling as its predecessor. However, a chapter on prewar aviation is an uncritical panegyric to WWI aerial bombing advocate Billy Mitchell, who was eventually court-martialed for criticizing armed forces brass. More problematic is that Bradley tries to encompass not only the whole history of the Pacific War, but the whole history of the cultures of the two opposing countries that led to the racial attitudes which both sides brought to the war. Those attitudes, Bradley argues, played a large role in the brutal training of the Japanese army, which led to atrocities that in turn sharpened already keen American hostility. Some readers' hackles will rise at the discussion of the guilt of both sides, but, despite some missteps, Bradley attempts to strike an informed balance with the perspective of more than half a century.

Bradley's phenomenal best-seller, Flags of Our Fathers (2000), was rejected by about 20 publishing houses before Bantam took a chance. His new publisher is not leaving the popularity of the encore to chance, launching it with an intense promotional campaign. Structured similarly to Flags, which concerned the flag-raisers of Iwo Jima, this work reconstructs the lives of several young men at war. Eight pilots and airmen were shot down by the Japanese military at Chichi Jima in 1944-45, George H. W. Bush among them. A well-known part of his political biography, Bush's story of escape is recounted somberly (Bush's crewmates died). The fates of the others shot down, who were captured, Bradley gathered in part from a source that was secret until a few years ago: records of a war-crimes trial of Japanese officers in command at Chichi Jima. Bradley sensitively builds the trial's unpleasant evidence (concealed, presumably, to spare pain to the airmen's relatives) into the narrative, which he frames with a portrayal of the Japanese military mind-set, which condoned the commission of atrocities. There are many brutally graphic passages about the torture and slaying of the American prisoners, which may prove too daunting for some readers, but Bradley succeeds in restoring dignity to the American airmen. Its strength is its weakness: Bradley is so concerned to personalize the story around the lives of his main characters that the bigger story of the role of aviation gets bogged down. It is a good read, but not great.

I am old enough to have lived through the war and remember it well. I never knew why Japan declared war on the U.S., even though I have taken every history class offered throughout my school career. "Flyboys" is probably the most brutal book I have ever read, almost too difficult in places. I am grateful to James Bradley for having written this book, I now understand why America dropped the Atomic Bombs and put an end to that war. "Flyboys" is a must read.

Couldn't put it down

I never read books quickly, but I read this over two days. I have always felt something for Marilyn- love, understanding, and respect.
This book ends abruptly and I feel it is incomplete. Much like her own life, ending too soon. I am not disappointed as I know she shows parts of herself that she wants us to see and the dozens of biographers since her death have filled in the rest for us.
What makes this special is that it is her own words. Her own musings on life, love, and men and women in general.
Regardless of whether you have read other bios or not, this is an excellent read for any Marilyn fan, and the photos are worth their weight in gold.

Oh, what a world

MM short biography went to the factual and not the fiction. Short reading. I had a sense that Ben Hecht really controlled much of the text. Knowing that MM was a very intelligent person and not often outfoxed she could have written most of the book on her own. Too many times in the book it just feels like MM's persona is manipulated by Hecht. Joshua Greene has some gall writing the forward on MM when the Greene family still squeezes every dime possible even today. They were greedy when she was living and continue to do so in death. Then again all too many people (including DiMaggio and Miller) had their own best interests at heart. What a tragic life given all the sharks circling around her right up to the end...the Kennedys.

In Nonverbal Vocal Communication specialists from several disciplines review the present knowledge on neural substrates of vocal communication, on primate vocal communication, and on precursors and prerequisites of human speech. Among other points, the book illustrates that animal vocal signals, particularly in primates, appear to be much more complex than mere expressions of effective states. The nonverbal communication data is complemented by comparative and developmental research of the preverbal period of human vocal communication. Studies of speech acquisition, biological adaptation and environmental support to speech yield a complex picture of interrelations between biogenetic and environmental factors. The new evidence that parents--without knowing--are well-fitted for supporting infant communicative development is astonishing. Their capacities represent a primary, biological model of didactic educational support.

For seekers of ultimate truth, a theory worth considering, but a great read for even the mildly curious

Today's greatest challenge for physics and cosmology is reconciling Einstein's Theory of Relativity with Quantum Mechanics. Both systems produce profoundly accurate results through thousands of experiments. The problem is that they are not compatible and all attempts to derive a single unified theory have failed. This work by Thad Roberts offers an elegant solution by proposing that spacetime itself is in reality a frictionless super fluid. Written to be understood by the lay reader while providing the theory in substantial detail to the scientist the book is a very enjoyable trip explaining the history of our developing understanding of the universe through the cosmological consequences of a reality composed of quanta. It brings us from our daily lives to 11 dimensional space, what the big bang really was, how dark matter works, and a buffet of other wonderfully interesting aspects of advanced theoretical physics. If you enjoy concepts you will love this book.

but I have a somewhat better grounding in philosophy

I have not finished reading this yet, but I am part way though. My understanding of physics is quite limited, but I have a somewhat better grounding in philosophy. My true passion is social science, and the philosophy of social science. What strikes me most about this work is that it gels very well with theories that I find most compelling in my own discipline. In particular, it seems to fit well with the theories that I find most parsimonious and compelling, but that also have yet to gain widespread acceptance in mainstream cognitive science. This book represents, for me, an honest and deeply creative attempt to respond to the most fundamental questions of any science: the questions of what exists, and how we can know what exists? In addition to tackling deep mysteries, this work also represents a challenge to the politics of knowledge production. Roberts has made a deliberate effort to render accessible a subject matter which is generally understood to be off-limits due to its complexity. So far, I am profoundly impressed with this book!

It contains interesting history and Thad's revolutionary QST model solves many current problems in Physics; it's almost a theory of everything! Very well written. Great pictures. The personal journey he shares in the book is very entertaining.

Great for studying!!!!!

I love it. This book has all these bullets that give you facts about nursing care in general. It has info from the very first day of nursing school till the last it helps you remember things that you might have forgotten from fundamentals, medsurg, pediatrics, maternal, psyche without having to search throughout 5 or 6 different books. I would definatelly recommend it.

This book is excellent! I purchased it for one of my students. The information provide is straight to the point. Provides students with great knowledge without having to read through several chapters for answers.
